LGBT history is also a big part of American history, as students throughout California will soon find out. The state’s board of education has approved updates to textbooks that will include significant LGBT moments in history. Students will learn about not just important LGBT milestones, but also people from those communities that made a difference in the lives of other Americans. Topics will also include special emphasis on California’s unique place in the history of gay rights.
