Trisha Prabhu was only a teenage when she launched the anti-cyberbullying app, ReThink. Today, she is one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Social Impact list. Her app has been downloaded over 500,000 times. Most anti-bullying programs focus on getting kids to speak to adults after the bullying occurs. Prabhu wanted to stop people from sending hurtful messages in the first place. She designed her app to detect key phrases or words that could be hurtful. Before sending, ReThink asks the user if they want to rephrase their message. It gives users a chance to double check their meaning and think about what they were planning to say.
