Last year, 18-year-old Joshua Wong made headlines when he lead pro-democracy rallies against the government of Hong Kong. The rallies caused a standstill throughout the city for more than two months. Wong is now charged with “unlawful assembly and inciting others to take part in an unlawful assembly.” Wong believes the charges are political persecution and part of a witch-hunt for protestors by the police. He could face up to five years in jail.
