After only one season, All American became the third most watched show on Netflix. More importantly, says female show creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll, are the conversations the show has started around what it’s like to be a young black man in America. All American focuses on an African American boy from a poor part of LA. He’s recruited to play football at a rich, mostly white high school in Beverly Hills. The characters and their struggles ring true for many viewers. All American’s second season premiered on the CW on October 7th.
