The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee is celebrating 25 years of chronicling the greatest triumphs and injustices of the Civil Rights Movement. The museum is located on the site of the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in April 1968. A recent $28 million dollar renovation has given new life to the museum, and more is planned for the future, including a marking of the 50th anniversary of the King assassination in 2018.
