With school sports cancelled in the spring of 2020, the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for athletes. This is causing a dilemma for college coaches: lose an incoming high school player that could play for four years, or lose a college senior that only has one more year of eligibility? There might not be enough money to support extra players on a team. The shutdown has also forced teams learn new ways to train and keep in touch. Many are meeting virtually and using group texts, videos, and apps to communicate.
