As of February of 2020, an extraordinary soldier is working to complete the US Army’s Special Forces Qualification Course. Once the unidentified woman does, she’ll be the first female Green Beret in history. In order to earn this title, must train for 53 weeks. The course is broken into six challenging phases. In the 1980s a woman named Kate Wilder successfully completed the course, but she was denied graduation. After Kate, the US Army stopped allowing women to attempt the course. That changed in 2016 when the Army began again allowing women to enroll.
