Professional Runner Helps Elderly Couple In Pandemic

Rebecca Mehra was at a grocery store in Bend, Oregon, when she noticed an upset elderly couple. They’d been sitting in their car for 45 minutes, afraid to go in. The couple didn’t want to get sick. Rebecca saw the wife hold out a $100 bill and a grocery list through a cracked window. She asked if Rebecca could buy their groceries. Rebecca didn’t think twice. “I bought the groceries and placed them in her truck, and gave her back the change,” she told reporters. “I know it’s a time of hysteria and nerves, but offer to help anyone you can. Not everyone has people to turn to.”
