Millennials and Generation Z account for more than one-third of eligible voters. But the percentage who actually vote is less than among older people. Bernie Sanders won the youth vote on 2020’s Super Tuesday Democratic primaries. But fewer than 20 percent of young people voted. That led to a big night of wins for Joe Biden. Experts suggest there may be several reasons for low turnout among those under 40 years old.
