Mesolithic Camp Discovered While Preparing For Road Construction

Archeologists were excavating land in preparation for road construction work in Scotland when they found stone tools used by hunter-gatherers during the Mesolithic Age. These finds provided evidence that they had discovered a camp likely used as a hunting base around 6,000 BC. Transport Secretary Matheson said, “The finds unearthed here at Berriedale Braes are truly fascinating and provide a rare glimpse into Scotland’s ancient past.”
