A new traveling exhibit titled “Hearts of Our People: Native Women Artists” is celebrating the artwork of Native American women. This exhibit seeks to recognize and celebrate Native women who have previously gone unnamed. Art exhibits have historically underrepresented Native women artists by labeling their artwork by tribe rather than by the artist’s name. Pieces chosen for the traveling exhibit speak to a connection with science, art, environmentalism, and the devastation and trauma experience by Native women.
