Audrey Pe had an early passion for technology growing up in the Philippines. But she was discouraged. Pe was told she wouldn’t fit in with tech types, that she would be the only girl. In response, she started a nonprofit organization called WiTech as a high school sophomore. The goal: “To educate, inspire and empower the youth to break gender stereotypes and make a difference using technology.” Today WiTech provides opportunities for women to make their mark in the tech world via a blog, conferences, and other opportunities.
