Six US space companies will share $44 million from NASA to work on new space exploration technologies. NASA calls these “tipping point” technologies. These are good ideas that need funding support to get off the ground. Some ideas are about using space more safely and efficiently. Others are about making it safer and easier to get into and through space. Still others are about landing on moons and planets. One company, Blue Origin, will receive $13 million to work on a lunar lander program. Blue Origin was founded by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos.
