When it was announced that Red Sox television broadcaster Don Orsillo would not be back for the 2016 season, fans were upset. They showed him how much at the final Sox home game. The team put together a video tribute on the scoreboard, which was met with a roaring standing ovation from the crowd. Orsillo stood and acknowledged the crowd’s tribute with a pound of his heart. Orsillo is a born-and-raised Red Sox fan who has been calling games for NESN for 15 seasons. He will begin a new job in the same role for the San Diego Padres in 2016.
