NASA has found a UK probe that has been lost on Mars since 2003. The UK Space Agency released the probe Beagle2 over Mars more than a decade ago, on Christmas day in 2003. The probe was supposed to land on the Red Planet and begin experiments. However, contact with Beagle2 was lost, and researchers believed the probe had been destroyed on impact. That’s not so, NASA says. A NASA orbiter took high-resolution pictures from space that appear to show Beagle2 intact. Meanwhile, scientists learned from Beagle2’s mistakes. The European Space Agency expects its ExoMars rover to land on Mars in 2019.
