The creatures in12 Super-Dangerous Animals are notable for their treacherous jaws and vicious eating habits, with the exception of the mosquito, which is included for its role in spreading deadly disease. Each spread includes well-reproduced photos, a narrative description of the animal exemplifying the title characteristic, and a few factoid-filled inset boxes. Though each title includes plenty of information about its dozen animals, the focus often strays from the volumes’ theme to just general information. Additionally, since none of the entries has an introduction, key concepts, as well as the criteria for selecting each volume’s creatures, are sometimes muddy. Still, insatiable animal lovers will be pleased by the browser-friendly format and bevy of incredible critters.”
