It was all but inevitable that Peyton Manning would break Brett Favre’s all-time passing yards record in week 10. All it took was a four yard completion to running back Ronnie Hillman midway through the first quarter. But the rest of Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs was anything but what fans have come to expect from the man with 71,871 career passing yards. Manning went 5 of 20 for just 35 yards, and four interceptions. No quarterback had put together such an unproductive performance since 1999. Manning was removed from the game in favor of backup Brock Osweiler. Following the game, it was discovered Manning was suffering from a foot injury. Osweiler will be starting in his place, for at the very least the Broncos’ next game against the Bears. It remains to be seen whether Manning will be able to return, but head coach Gary Kubiak reiterated that when healthy, Manning remains the Broncos’ starting quarterback.
