Secrets Uncovered Beneath The House Of Commons In London

Ever think old buildings hold secrets waiting to be uncovered? One building in London revealed its own secrets in February 2020. The House of Commons is located within the Palace of Westminster in the United Kingdom, a building that dates back to the year 1099. A team of historians was researching the building when they discovered plans showing a mysterious doorway. That’s when the team decided to investigate. They located the part of the building where the doorway was supposed to be and noticed a small keyhole in the wall. After creating a key to fit the lock, they were able to open the doorway that led to a secret passage under Parliament. Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, visited the secret passage and shared his excitement: “To think that this walkway has been used by so many important people over the centuries is incredible.”
