Two Politicians With Disabilities Elected To Japan’s Parliament

Yasuhiko Funago and Eiko Kimura were elected to Japan’s Upper House in 2019. They both have a physical disability. But that hasn’t stopped them from pursuing political careers. They want to promote the rights of people with disabilities, among other things. This is a huge step toward changing the attitudes of Japanese people. Japan is increasingly moving to a more inclusive society.
