Could China’s Ban On Ivory Trading Save African Elephants?
Elephant tusks are highly desired by Chinese ivory dealers.

China outlawed the trading of ivory in late 2017. Since then, fewer people in that country seem interested in buying it. About 30,000 African elephants were being killed each year to meet the demands of the legal and illegal trades. Conservationists are not sure how much of the decline can be attributed directly to the ban, since awareness among the Chinese remains slim. The priorities right now are raising awareness and working to fight the ivory trade among Chinese travelers overseas, especially in Thailand.
