Born in the Dominican Republic, Albert Pujols immigrated to the United States when he was six years old. He became a first baseman for the Los Angeles Angels. Pujols and his wife, Dierdre, are two of baseball’s most charitable people. Their latest cause: fighting human trafficking and modern-day slavery. They have founded an organization called Strike Out Slavery (strikeoutslavery.com). Pop star Nick Jonas is helping them.
