The Chicago Cubs ended a forgettable streak on Saturday night when they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League (NL) Championship Series. The win gave the Cubs the NL pennant and a berth in the World Series for the first time since 1945. However, the North Siders still need to beat the Cleveland Indians in order to win their first World Series title since 1908. The last 108 years have been filled with agony for Cubs fans, many of whom feared their team had been cursed.
