At the age of 88, Ernie Andrus ran in a relay race. Though he only did it out of a love for running, he got some attention for it. Andrus decided to do one better and run across the country, starting from his home in California. Now three years later and at the age of 93, Andrus finished his run in St. Simons, Georgia. Besides making history as the oldest person to run across the country, Andrus was running to raise money for the preservation of the landing ship tank LST 325, the last one of its kind in existence.
