When completed in April 2017, Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution will feature exciting exhibits that bring history to life. One of its most impressive will be a 45-foot replica of a typical ship from that era. The ship will also tell the tale of James Forten, a 14-year-old free African-American boy who worked on a privateer ship, and later became an abolitionist and businessman. The ship will take about a year to build at a cost of $175,000.
