The world’s deepest sinkhole was discovered in the South China Sea. The sinkhole is part of local legends, and locals call it the “Dragon Hole.” The sinkhole was featured in the story the “Journey to the West.” While the blue hole was already known to locals, researchers only just confirmed that the sinkhole is the deepest in the world. It reaches depths of over 1,000 feet (305 m).
