Astronomers Still Searching For Origin Of Radio Signal From Nearby Star
The Parkes radio telescope was used to detect the unexplained radio signal.

In 2019, Breakthrough Listen picked up strange radio waves from Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Sun. The signal, names BLC-1, looks like a technosignature that scientists are on the look out for. These signals are in a very narrow range of radio frequencies that humans use to communicate. They also have a “drift” that show the source is moving, like a planet. Scientists believe BLC-1 could be coming from something on Earth. Or it could be a signal from a new space object. But so far, the source is unknown. And even a hint that life could be beyond Earth has alien hunters excited.
