The Maryland Historical Society recreated the flag that inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the 200th Anniversary of Francis Scott Key writing the song, which is now the United States’ national anthem. The historical society invited the public to add their stitches to the flag. The flag flew over Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and was made with the same kind of materials as the original.
