Director Ava DuVernay has a new documentary called “The 13th.” It examines the history of racial inequality in the United States, and the film’s title references the 13th Amendment of the Constitution, which banned slavery. It covers from the early 20th century to today. “The 13th” will debut both on Netflix and in theaters.
