In 1962, prisoners Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin attempted to escape Alcatraz prison in California’s Bay Area. Investigators are unsure whether they survived. In 2016, a dying man claimed to have helped Morris and the Anglin brothers escape from Alcatraz. He said that he and an accomplice boated the escapees to shore.
