Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw finished the regular season on a high note against the San Diego Padres. He recorded his 300th strikeout of the season, making him the first pitcher to hit that mark since 2002. The Dodgers’ position in the playoffs was secure, but instead of resting Kershaw, manager Don Mattingly let him pitch for the milestone. Kershaw ended the season with 301 strikeouts over 33 starts.
