The peregrine falcon is becoming more commonplace in downtown Boston as more skyscrapers are added to the skyline. These raptors glide between the buildings and perch high above the ground. The birds have spectacular eyesight and can see up to two miles (3.2 km) away. When they spot prey, they dive at top speeds. The peregrine falcon has been clocked at 242 miles per hour (390 km/h), making it the fastest bird on the planet.
