Matt Harvey is giving New York Mets fans something to cheer about. The star pitcher, who missed all of last season with injury, is back and healthy this season. During his breakout 2013 season, attendance at Mets home games rose 7.9 percent on days Harvey pitched. The “Harvey effect” appears to still be strong. When Harvey made his first home start this season on April 14, a crowd of 39,489 fans showed up to Citi Field in New York. In what would have been the same game last year, only 29,146 fans showed up.
