The NBA names a player of the month from each conference during the season. But after the Atlanta Hawks went 17–0 in January, the league made an exception and named all five of the team’s starters as the Eastern Conference Players of the Month. No team had ever gone undefeated in a calendar month before Atlanta, and the NBA had never before given Player of the Month honors to an entire starting lineup. The five starters are guards Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver, forwards DeMarre Carroll and Al Horford, and center Paul Millsap.
