The Academy has spoken: “Birdman” and “Grand Budapest Hotel” lead all movies with nine nominations each for the 2015 Academy Awards. Both films are up for the biggest award, best picture, along with “Boyhood,” “American Sniper,” “Selma,” “The Imitation Game,” “Whiplash” and “The Theory of Everything.” Nominations for the premier movie awards, known as the Oscars, were announced Thursday. The 87th Academy Awards will be held Sunday Feb. 22, with actor Neil Patrick Harris as host.
