Obama And Republican Leader Pledge To Work Together

Republicans won control of the Senate in the November 2014 elections. Since the party also held a majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans now control both chambers of Congress. Mitch McConnell, the Senate’s Republican leader, and President Obama, a Democrat, have promised to work together and not let the government stall because of party differences. Many Americans have expressed frustration over the gridlock in Congress in recent years.
