A high-tech spoon is set to change the lives of people with tremors. Tremors make it very difficult to eat liquid foods because when the hand or arm shakes, food spills. This spoon, called Liftware, is battery-operated and responds to a person’s tremors by moving the utensil in the opposite direction, stabilizing the food it carries. At $295, this is no cheap device, but it gives dignity back to those who haven’t been able to eat with a spoon for years.
