Nielsen, a company that studies American consumers’ habits, released its annual “Music 360” report this week. This report found that 91 percent of Americans listen to music, which is down from 93 percent last year. The report also found that people listen to the radio for fewer hours each week. This might be because there are more alternatives for listening to music, such as online services Pandora and Spotify. However, radio is still the main way people find new music. According to Nielsen, 61 percent of people said they found new music by listening to the radio. That’s 10 percent more than last year. People also said they discovered new music at live concerts.
