39 Canadian miners were trapped underground when their elevator broke down. Luckily, they had plenty of food and water for the three days they were in the mine. Rescue workers used ladders and ropes to get the miners to the surface. The 0.6 mile (1 km) climb took up to 10 hours in some cases. All the miners were safely rescued.
