New Bronze Age Sites Heighten Dispute Of Highway Under Stonehenge

A busy highway near Stonehenge is causing traffic jam and pollution near the historic site. A plan is in place to build a bigger road tunnel underground. Historians worry there will be “unforeseen and lasting impact on the artifact-laden land.” Just recently, two Bronze Age burial sites and a Late Bronze Age industrial site have been found. The tunnel contractors are only required to preserve four percent of the artifacts they find.
