Confidence In COVID-19 Vaccine Development Is Up, But Some Are Still Wary

If the coronavirus vaccine was ready today, would you take it? About 60% of the 12,648 people polled in November said they “definitely or probably” would, according to a poll from the Pew Research Center. This is up from 51% in September. However, there is wariness about the safety of the first round of vaccines. Only 37% of people said they would be comfortable taking the first vaccine. The United Kingdom was first to authorize use of the Pfizer/BioTech vaccine. The US FDA will vote for emergency use authorization for Pfizer on Dec. 10 and Moderna on Dec. 17.
