Wildfires Cloak Sydney In Smoke

Destructive bushfires marred the Australian summer of 2019. As of December, more than 100 fires blazed in New South Wales. Drought conditions and strong winds allowed for the quick spread of flames. Fires even reached the suburbs of Sydney. While flames were stopped from advancing further, smoke from fires blanketed the city. Officials advised people to stay indoors if possible due to the hazardous air quality.
