Tigers legend Willie Horton celebrates his birthday each year on October 18. Since 2004, so has the state of Michigan, which named the day Willie Horton Day. Horton had 1,993 hits and 325 home runs in his career, but the day honors his accomplishments off the field, where he works with kids and sponsors a scholarship program. Horton was the fourth person Michigan honored with a day. The third was Rosa Parks.
