With the ball near the opposing goal line and Marshawn Lynch in the backfield, almost everybody expected the Seattle Seahawks to run the ball as time ran down in Super Bowl XLIX. But Patriots rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler was ready for the pass. He picked off Russell Wilson’s pass in the end zone to preserve a 28–24 victory, their fourth Super Bowl win under coach Bill Belichick.
