Since joining the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2009, Andrew McCutcheon has been easy to spot in center field with his long, black dreadlocks. No more. The 2013 National League MVP cut them off during spring training. He filmed the haircut for YouTube, and some of his hair will be sold for charity. The haircut was McCutcheon’s first in eight years. “It was just time,” McCutcheon said. Without the hair, McCutcheon needed to switch to a smaller cap. He also joked that he might be even faster on the base paths without his locks weighing him down.
