The “Shooting Stars” Of Super Bowl Halftime Show

The sky lit up with stars as Lady Gaga performed during Super Bowl LI’s halftime show. But these stars were created by a group of 300 drones. The drones are part of Intel’s Shooting Star squad. They worked together to make patterns of flashing lights. One master computer controls the movement of every drone in the squad. Right now, the drones can put on an impressive display. Their LEDs can create 4 billion different color combinations. But the drones have many other potential uses. Some day, they may help inspect dangerous areas or rescue lost hikers.
