Talk about oversharing: Up to 50 million Facebook accounts were affected by a security breach discovered in September 2018. Another 40 million may have been vulnerable at the time. Facebook said it immediately notified users and fixed the issue, but also acknowledged that the weakness was related to a platform change made in July 2017. Facebook continues to be scrutinized over its treatment of the personal information of its two billion members. It may face stiff fines and legal action over the breach.
