Allied troops who fought in World War II saved the world as we know it. More than 70 years after the end of the war, heroes from the conflict continue to pass away. In October 2018, one very notable Norwegian soldier died. Joachim Roenneberg led a team credited with helping prevent Nazi forces from developing nuclear weapons. Their raid on a Nazi plant in Norway is seen as “the most successful sabotage campaign” in that country.
