Eliud Kipchoge, a long-distance runner from Kenya, set a new marathon record in September 2018. He ran the Berlin marathon in 2 hours, 1 minute, and 39 seconds. Kipchoge broke the previous record set in 2014 by Dennis Kimetto, another athlete from Kenya. He had trained hard and focused on winning. Many people today consider Kipchoge the greatest distance runner of modern times.
