Many countries limit the number of times one person can be chosen to lead a nation. In the United States, for example, a president can serve no more than two terms in the office. Since the 1990s, China had also capped the number of presidential terms at two. But in March 2018, that changed. That’s when the Asian nation changed its constitution to allow the current president, Xi Jinping, to serve as president for life.
