Vroom vroom! You won’t hear that on a Formula E race track. That’s because all Formula E cars are electric-powered. It’s said the gearbox sounds like Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder. Except for that, the cars barely make a sound. They can go from zero to 60 in three seconds. Their top speeds are around 140 miles per hour, and they’re getting faster. And now batteries are getting big enough to make it through a whole 50-minute race. Before, drivers had to switch cars mid-race.
